Abstract

Obesity and ovarian cancer survival have been linked in studies, however the findings have been mixed. We examined and statistically summarised current information, focusing on potentially major causes of variation such as the time of BMI testing and varied BMI cutpoints. A thorough search of MEDLINE and EMBASE was done to find original data on the relationship between obesity and survival in women with ovarian cancer. A random-effects model was used to pool adjusted hazard ratios (HR) from studies. A meta-analysis of 14 research found that obese women had somewhat worse survival than non-obese women.
