• Vitamin D performs vital homeostatic and systematic functions in the human body. • Skin Vitamin D production is affected by factors such as age, season, latitude, and sun exposure. • Pandemic Vitamin D deficiency is a metabolic abnormality caused by a complex interplay of factors. • Despite regular sunny weather, one third of the MENA region population is vitamin D deficient. • Vitamin D3 fortified breads have shown their efficacy in increasing serum 25-hydroxy-Vitamin D.
