Abstract
This work presents a theoretical study of the shift current in anoncentrosymmetric polytype of graphitic BC${}_{2}$N. The photoconductivitynear the fundamental gap is strongly anisotropic due to the vanishingof particular tensor components not foretold by point-group symmetryarguments; this is a consequence of dipole selection rules imposed bymirror symmetry, which imply that the relative parities betweenvalence and conduction bands are key for determining thedirectionality of the band-edge response.
