Abstract

This chapter discusses the knowledge extreme microbiomes and their biotechnological applications. Extremophilic microbiome has a wide range of applications from bioremediation of toxic elements to production of biomolecules for industrial and medical purposes to an agricultural application. The potential applications of extremophiles have formed a great impact in the field of biotechnology which has been described. Extremophiles microbiome has been providing an extensive and versatile metabolic diversity with astonishing physiological capabilities to colonize extreme environments. Recently according to frontier work extremophiles are channeled to consider their peculiar electrology, and survival mechanism as well as physiology. Since the last two decades, the research data on extremophiles has increased exponentially as the enzymes extracted from the extremophilic microbiome have been shown in various industries such as biotechnological industries, diary textiles, detergent, food and beverages, leather pulp and paper and the pharma medicines.
