Abstract
Myopia (or short-sightedness) is a global \nhealth and social problem. Researchers \nhave estimated that in China, myopia \ncaused a 244 billion United States dollars \nloss in productivity in 2015.1 \n China’s approach to its burden of childhood myopia illustrates the problem’s magnitude, \nbut also outlines solutions that could be \npotentially relevant to other countries. \nHere we outline China’s national myopia policy, discuss the related scientific \nevidence and conclude with specific \nrecommendations for the way forward
