Abstract
experiments confirmed that PPII induced cancer cell apoptosis and inhibited invasion and migration. Furthermore, PPII was capable of suppressing the expression of key proteins in the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, reducing the generation of aerobic glycolytic products, and diminishing the protein expression levels of hexokinase 2 and pyruvate kinase M2. The results indicated that PPII inhibited aerobic glycolysis in breast cancer cells through the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, thereby inhibiting breast cancer growth.
