Battery Management System for SOC Estimation of Lithium-Ion Battery in Electric Vehicle: A Review

Abstract
Battery Management system is still very difficult task for the electric vehicle (EV). Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries have proved to be the battery of electric vehicle manufactures because of its high charge density and low weight. In EVs, essential thing is a smart battery management system (BMS). The Li-ion battery is highly unstable in nature so it is challenging task to estimate accurate state of charge (SOC) of a Li-ion battery. This paper present comprehensively reviews its SOC estimation methods for a Li-ion battery. This paper is provided merits, demerits, critical explanation and their estimation errors.
