Abstract

Dendrimers in nanobiomedicine have attracted attention to overcome the biological barriers because of their suitable characteristics such as nanosize, hyperbranching polymeric composition, globular uniform structures, variable chemical compositions, multivalency, and high biological compatibility. Interestingly, their three-dimensional architecture may incorporate a variety of biologically active cargos into them for forming the active conjugates. Moreover, their coating with ligand/s may reduce their toxic side effects and other biological obstacles in targeting potent ingredients to the desired site/s of interest with their controlled release effectively. This review focuses on dendrimers to consider them as a suitable delivery system against infections and cancer.
