Rapid, room-temperature, solvent-free mechanochemical oxidation of elemental gold into organosoluble gold salts

Abstract
A simple mechanochemical strategy provides a mild, straightforward, and rapid route to convert gold metal into organosoluble Au( iii ) salts, which can be readily used as precursors for Au( i ) salts and gold nanoparticles.
