Abstract

Enzyme catalysis is green and mild, while suffering from being easily damaged by environment. In this work, zirconium-based metal–organic frameworks (Zr-MOFs) were synthesized to replace enzymes to prepare an enzyme mimic catalytic membrane for the removal of aqueous organophosphorus pesticides. Polydopamine (PDA) covered the substrate membrane to strengthen the adherence of the UiO-66-NH 2 catalytic layer. After optimization, the removal rate of the model substrate methyl paraoxon (MPO) was 95.12% by the catalytic membrane with functions of catalysis, adsorption, and rejection, and the multifunctional synergistic effect was quantitatively analyzed. Meanwhile, the membrane exhibits good dye/salt separation ability with rejection of more than 97% and less than 10% for typical dyes and salts, respectively, together with a high water permeability of 86.37 LMH/bar. Compared with biocatalytic membranes, the enzyme mimic catalytic membrane has better stability, and compared with enzyme mimic powder, the reusability is enhanced by membrane immobilization, which endows the enzyme mimic catalytic membrane with promising potential in practical applications.
