Abstract

Iron sulfide nanoparticles ( e.g. , FeS NPs), which are ubiquitous in sulfate (SO 4 2− )-rich anaerobic environments, can act as an electrical wire for long-distance extracellular electron transfer (EET) and bridge spatially discrete redox environments.
