Abstract
The objective of this paper is to discuss a formal method of designing automatic systems and also an intelligent system to realize this idea. This method is to build a model of objects including human activity and then transform the model into an automatic problem solving system. In other words, this is to generate a special purpose problem solving system for a given problem. This problem specific system is extracted from a general purpose problem solving system using the object model as a template. Thus in this paper a way of developing general-purpose problem solving systems is discussed first, then concept of multi-strata model is introduced as a new modeling scheme to represent problem specific models including human activity. Finally a way of generating a problem-specific problem solving system is discussed. This idea leads us to automatic programming.
