A Nine Level ANPC Boost Type Inverter Topology With Reduced Component Stress
Jagabar Sathik Mohamed Ali
Abstract
This article describes a boosting-capable hybrid active neutral point clamped (ANPC) switched-capacitor (SC) inverter structure. Capacitor voltages can achieve inherent balance in the proposed topology without additional sensors or techniques. On the source side, the dc-dc boost converter suppresses the discontinuous input current to provide a steady input current. Various analyses are performed, including capacitors’ charging current and boost converter inductors’ design. In addition, the proposed topology is validated using a prototype and a simulation tool with a 400 W output power. Comparisons with other SCMLIs are provided to highlight the proposed topology’s benefits.
