Abstract

Physical Unclonable Functions (PDF) are the Hard-ware Assisted Security primitives for robust and lightweight se-curity in resource constrained environments, such as the Internet of Things (IoT). PDF takes 'challenges' as inputs and gives true random numbers, 'responses' as outputs. One of the challenges of PDF are to store the input challenges or send them from a server in resource constrained environments. To address the issue, this paper presents MC-PUF, a machine learning-based robust and lightweight controlled PUF which generates challenges based on the timestamp at the device to avoid storing the challenges.
