Abstract
A study of the most promising approaches to the sustainable development of countries was carried out, the type of economy, where the environmental aspects of economic development were mostly considered. The starting point in the research is the huge risks and problems for the current and future generations associated with the intensive and irrational use of capital, the implementation of consumption policy, and the lack of control over the destruction of natural capital. The principles of the “green” economy were analyzed, and the most effective options for their implementation were shown. It was noted that an extremely wide range of interrelated tasks can be transformed from local to global in a very short time. The mechanisms of implementing the concept of a "green" economy at the national level were considered. The analysis of the global “green” economy index was presented, – it showed that countries with constant attention to “green” growth continued to improve their GGEI results, and hydrocarbon exporting countries were traditionally at the lower level of the rating. Special attention to the “green” economy in the Russian Federation was shown; internal and external factors affecting its development were determined. The result of the study: it suggested that the implementation of the mechanisms for the "green" economy and the solution of environmental problems can be carried with a new level of management from government and business, with the help of new technologies in the framework of environmental and economic policy.
