Abstract
VIDEO 1 Case 2 performing a 360° turn before SCS in medication off condition: severe freezing is observed. VIDEO 2 Case 2 performing a 360° turn in medication off condition 3 and 12 months after SCS (segments 1 and 2, respectively): the severe freezing seen in video 1 is slightly improved, particularly during the 3-month assessment. VIDEO 3 Case 4 is seen in medication off condition before (segment 1) and 3 months after (segment 2) SCS: no improvement of gait, balance, and posture (Pisa tower syndrome) is noticeable. Supplementary Figure 1 UPDRS-III scores throughout the longitudinal follow up of the study during the medication/stimulation conditions. No significant change of the total score throughout the longitudinal follow up of the study was observed (panel A and B). Total motor score improved acutely six months after SCS when stimulation was turned on in absence of levodopa (Wilcoxon test, panel A). Friedman test was used to determine the statistical significance of all numeric variables at all time points. Wilcoxon test (used as post-hoc of Friedman) showed a significant improvement of the axial subscore in the med off/stim on condition at 3 and 12 months when compared to 1 month and at 6 months when compared to 3 months (panel C). Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS Version 20.0 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA) and a P value <0.05 was considered significant. Table 1. Baseline subjects' charecterstics and parameters of stimulation (Off and On refer to medication condition). Table 2. Secondary endpoints. Table 3. Gait analysis of SCS patients.
