Lewis Base-Catalyzed DYKAT of Racemic Chlorosilanes En Route to Si-Stereogenic Silazanes

Abstract
A dynamic kinetic asymmetric transformation (DYKAT) of racemic chlorosilanes into Si-stereogenic silazanes has been developed. The chiral isothiourea catalyst ( R )-benzotetramizole facilitates silylamination with sulfonamides, yielding ( S )-silazanes with ≥99:1 er after one recrystallization. The approach is distinct from the conventional desymmetrization strategy using dihydrosilanes, expanding the synthetic toolbox for Si-stereogenic silazanes.
