Abstract
This paper proposes a method for the live detection of turn-to-turn short-circuit fault in dry-type air-core filter reactors. In the proposed method, the turn-to-turn short-circuit fault is determined and located by detecting the change of vibration distribution characteristics on the reactor surface. The testing results prove that under the excitation of composite current, this method can locate the turn-to-turn short-circuit fault effectively, and the short-circuit fault has an obvious impact on the vibration signals of each frequency.
