Abstract
An analysis and identification of the type of fault on a transmission line is required for fault classification and identification. In the process of identifying the type of fault that occurred and determining the phase in which it occurred, the discrete wavelet transform is used. It is also used to determine the current waveform during a fault. An easy-to-use fault detection indicator is presented in this paper, which can be implemented in computer relaying applications. A simulation is run using MATLAB Simulation to generate fault signals.
