Abstract

A coupled-fed Wi-Fi 6E monopole/loop antenna, occupying a compact size of 5 mm × 14.5 mm, for 2.4/5/6 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) operation, including the latest 6 GHz band (5925-7125 MHz), is first introduced. The antenna comprises one coupling strip and one parasitic strip, which produce the 0.25-λ monopole resonant mode in the 2.4 GHz band and 0.5-λ monopole and 1.0-λ loop resonant modes in the 5/6 GHz bands. The single antenna design may be the smallest 2.4/5/6 GHz laptop antenna in the recent literature. Furthermore, by conjoining the parasitic strips of the two said antennas and embedding a decoupling capacitor therein, two decoupled (multi-input multi-output) MIMO antennas can be attained.
