Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of the study was to find the significant impact of season on the outdoor gamma dose rate including statistical analysis. Outdoor gamma dose rates were studied for 52 locations of the Balod district, Chhattisgarh, India, in summer and winter. Statistical analysis confirmed that there was no significant difference in dose rate between summer and winter. Geology of the area was the most important factor, and meteorological parameters had less influence; consequently, in this investigation, the impact of these parameters were checked through linear regression, cluster, principal component and factor analysis.
