Abstract

standard annulation, an alternative and novel Ru(ii)-Ru(iv)-Ru(ii) mechanism featuring N-O cleavage preceding alkyne insertion has been proposed, affording a new understanding of transition metal-catalyzed C-H activation/annulation.
