Abstract
This experimental investigation aims to concentrate on the performance of four-stroke compression ignition engine and emission characteristics fuelled with biodiesel and its blends instead of diesel fuel. Bio-diesel is one of the most important alternative fuels for diesel. Many researchers focused on the identification of different bio-diesels to be used in the diesel engine keeping in the view of the present and future increasing petroleum crisis and cost. Diesel engine has a lot of applications, such as transport, industrial and power generations, etc.. In this connection, an experimental study was done by using 20% blends of biodiesel without modification of the engine. The obtained experimental results of bio-diesel blends were compared to those of diesel fuel. The 20% of bio diesel neem oil blend is found higher performance compare to other biodiesel blends and also it's very closer to the diesel fuel values.
