Abstract

During the additive manufacturing, the shape of workpieces is influenced by printing parameters. To achieve the desired shape of the workpiece, an optimization algorithm is often used to determine an effective combination of printing parameters. Although multiparameter optimization can improve structure quality, they are very time-consuming. In this article, we propose a timesaving irregular element-based compensating approach, which allows a more precise fitting of the geometric boundaries without needing additional computing resources. Finally, we demonstrate that the proposed approach can accurately shape the workpiece to fulfill the expected computer-aided design geometry by experimental verification and error comparison analysis.
