A Review of 6D Object Pose Estimation

Abstract
The 6D object pose estimation is a forward-looking technology in the field of computer vision, which has great application potential in metaverse, VRI AR, robot operation, intelligent driving and other fields. It is mainly to get the translation and rotation of rigid object in three-dimensional rectangular coordinate system under x, y and z axes. A lot of research pour in this field. This paper briefly describes the 6D object pose estimation technology, introduces various traditional 6D object pose estimation methods, summarizes and analyzes the 6D object pose estimation algorithms based on deep learning and the data sets. Finally, the paper prospects the next research directions.
