Extropy of order statistics applied to testing symmetry

Abstract
The results of the extropy of order statistics are applied to constructing a test statistic for symmetry. This test statistic has this advantage that we do not need to estimate the center of the symmetry. Through a simulation study, the power of the test is computed and then compared with the competing tests. The power results show that, for a wide variety of alternative asymmetric distributions, the proposed test is much more powerful than other tests. A real dataset is presented and analyzed.
