Abstract

This letter merges the advantages of non-orthogonal-multiple-access (NOMA) and multi-antenna communication in a full-duplex (FD) uplink cooperative system, where two cellular users communicate with a base-station (BS). A cooperative FD relay is applied to assist the cell-edge user. To consider the effects of practical communications, interference links are regarded under imperfectly canceling mode. To remove the effect of interference signals at the BS, the zero-forcing (ZF) method is used. Outage probabilities are derived in closed-form. The simulation results reveal by applying ZF in BS and suppressing interference, FD mode achieves better outage performance than half-duplex (HD) in uplink cooperative multi-antenna NOMA communication.
