From CORD to SDN Enabled Broadband Access (SEBA) [Invited Tutorial]

Abstract
SDN Enabled Broadband Access (SEBA) is a large open-source development and integration project hosted by the Open Networking Foundation (ONF). Built using white-box hardware, merchant silicon, and SDN principles, SEBA brings the benefits of virtualization and cloudification to passive optical network (PON)-based broadband access networks for FTTH/FTTB deployments. Already in field trials with several Tier-1 operators, SEBA is rapidly moving toward production readiness with contributions from a rich open-source community of operators, vendors, and system integrators.
