Abstract

The wear of steel components of dynamically loaded tribocouplings is considered. The relation between the wear resistance of metal and the structural homogeneity of the surface layer is noted. The model of the structural failure of the surface during friction at single-component, bicomponent, and three-component dynamic loading is presented. The tribosystem wear resistance concept is proposed based on using the principles of structural energy adaptation of materials by friction at various kinds of loading. The principles of surface engineering and the algorithm of controlling the wear resistance of steel by using the features of forming the nanostructural state of the surface layer are recommended.
