Abstract

In the present investigation, the scattering characteristics of Love waves due to the surface irregularity in a transversely isotropic layered poro-viscoelastic rock structure have been studied. The effects of the anisotropy parameter and porosity parameter of the upper layer on the phase and attenuation coefficient of Love waves have been analyzed. The expressions for the induced reflected displacement have also been obtained for different types of surface irregularity, viz. parabolic type, rectangular type, and triangular notch type in the considered layered rock structure. The behavior of reflected displacement under the efficacy of several physical parameters has also been examined.
