Abstract

In this work, we had proposed a load frequency control scheme by applying Model Predictive Control(MPC) in a three-area isolated power system, which including thermal generation, photovoltaic generation(PV), Wind Generation(WG) and storage battery by using local terminal information. [1] And base on the model, we had examined the muti-area system load frequency control approach effectiveness and robustness. In this step, we had built a multi-area model by which applied MPC and no MPC, to examine the system stability by analysis these two cases simulation results. And more importantly is, it laid the foundation for the next step of research. In the future work, we would like to connect the each part of this muti-area system, and by considering the tie-power to make a two step MPC control scheme. All the simulations are performed in Matlab®/Simulink®.
