Abstract
The isolable chelating bis(N-heterocyclic silylenyl)-substituted terphenyl ligand [Si<sup>II</sup>(Terp)Si<sup>II</sup>] as well as its bis(phosphine) analogue [P<sup>III</sup>(Terp)P<sup>III</sup>] have been synthesised and fully characterised.
