Abstract
Highly effective production of 2,5-bis(hydoxymethyl)furan (BHMF) from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) has been achieved over Ni/SiO 2 catalyst. An effect of DMSO on the HMF hydrogenation is demonstrated under practical conditions.
