An overview of biosynthesized metal nanoparticles via medicinal plant extracts of the Moraceae family

Abstract

Several attempts were undertaken in the past twenty years to sustainably synthesize a number of metallic nanoparticles , such as gold, silver, copper, and palladium nanoparticles , utilizing extracts of several plants from the Moraceae family that have therapeutic value. Moraceae leaves or fruits so far been subjected to phytochemical prospection, has identified a wide range of chemicals, including flavonoids , lower terpenes, organic acids , etc. Researchers created metallic nanoparticles, analyzed those using cutting-edge analytical methods, and assessed their suitability for uses in dentistry, antimicrobial resistance , and cancer prevention. This review aims to provide an idea of how medicinally important plant extracts of the Moraceae family are being utilized in synthesizing metallic nanoparticles for employing these advancements in development of new technologies and solutions to the medical complications. It also focuses on the unexplored metal formulations which could be taken into glance by the researchers for future discoveries.
