Compact Notch Loaded Monopole Antenna for C-Band Applications

Abstract
Compact monopole patch antenna for C-band application is designed and its performance is studied. The ground is defected to miniaturize the size of proposed the amtenna 35mm × 25mm. Microstrip feed line is used to excited the antenna. A notch is loaded in rectangular patch due to which the proposed compact monopole antenna is giving best performance in frequency range of (6.58-8.54)GHz having an impedance bandwidth of 26% and having peak gain of 4.7dB. The proposed compact monopole antenna is bi-directional in nature. The compact monopole antenna is improved in varies radiation characteristic such as impedance bandwidth, realized gain and radiation pattern which make this antenna to work for C-band Applications.
