Abstract

Several studies in recent years show that nanoparticles have unlimited potential to enhance the tribological capabilities of lubricating oils. Several reviews are available that elaborate on the importance of nanoparticles in oil lubrication. Since friction is a surficial phenomenon, knowing about nano lubrication without knowing the surface of the tribological members would be only one side of the coin. So, this review focuses on tribological member materials used to evaluate lubricating oil performance. This review also provides detailed elemental information about nano lubrication along with tribological test methods.
