Abstract

The vector meson-baryon interaction in a coupled channel scheme is revisited within the correlation function framework. As illustrative cases to reveal the important role played by the coupled channels, we focus on the <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <a:mrow> <a:mi>ϕ</a:mi> <a:mi mathvariant="normal">p</a:mi> </a:mrow> </a:math> and <d:math xmlns:d="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <d:mrow> <d:msup> <d:mrow> <d:mi>ρ</d:mi> </d:mrow> <d:mrow> <d:mn>0</d:mn> </d:mrow> </d:msup> <d:mi mathvariant="normal">p</d:mi> </d:mrow> </d:math> systems given their complex dynamics and the presence of quasibound states or resonances in the vicinity of their thresholds. We show that the <g:math xmlns:g="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <g:mrow> <g:mi>ϕ</g:mi> <g:mi mathvariant="normal">p</g:mi> </g:mrow> </g:math> femtoscopic data provide novel information about a <j:math xmlns:j="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <j:msup> <j:mi>N</j:mi> <j:mo>*</j:mo> </j:msup> </j:math> state present in the experimental region and anticipate the relevance of a future <l:math xmlns:l="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <l:mrow> <l:msup> <l:mrow> <l:mi>ρ</l:mi> </l:mrow> <l:mrow> <l:mn>0</l:mn> </l:mrow> </l:msup> <l:mi mathvariant="normal">p</l:mi> </l:mrow> </l:math> correlation function measurement in order to pin down the <o:math xmlns:o="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <o:mi>S</o:mi> <o:mo>=</o:mo> <o:mn>0</o:mn> <o:mo>,</o:mo> <o:mi>Q</o:mi> <o:mo>=</o:mo> <o:mo>+</o:mo> <o:mn>1</o:mn> </o:math> vector meson-baryon interaction as well as to disclose the characterizing features of the <q:math xmlns:q="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> <q:msup> <q:mi>N</q:mi> <q:mo>*</q:mo> </q:msup> <q:mo stretchy="false">(</q:mo> <q:mn>1700</q:mn> <q:mo stretchy="false">)</q:mo> </q:math> state.
