Abstract

Piperidine has been efficiently synthesized by a one-pot approach from biomass-derived tetrahydrofurfurylamine via its selective hydrogenolysis to 5-amino-1-pentanol and the sequential amination of 5-amino-1-pentanol on supported Rh–ReO x catalysts.
