Abstract
The number of women with chronic kidney disease (CKD) desiring a pregnancy is increasing. First, it is because of the increasing maternal age with the inherent higher incidence of CKD. Second, it is because of improved treatment options and higher numbers of kidney transplantations leading to increased number of fertile women with CKD for whom pregnancy can be a safe option. Furthermore, due to improved preconception care and multidisciplinary care before, during, and after pregnancy, maternal and fetal outcomes have improved.
