Abstract

Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) performances of palladium nanocubes and octahedra and their hydride forms were investigated. A volcano type relationship between ORR activity and binding strength of reaction intermediates was observed that palladium nanocubes being the most active toward the ORR in acidic media among other Pd-based catalysts.
