Abstract

Ensuring the safety & security of our homes is of prime importance, & the conventional methods of door unlocking systems, dependent on physical keys, passwords, or biometrics, often pose challenges due to their susceptibility to loss, theft, or sharing. This abstract introduces the concept of leveraging facial recognition technology as a cutting-edge solution for securing residential doorways. In this research, we address the critical challenge of developing a dependable, rapid, and precise door-unlocking system powered by facial recognition. The proposed system utilizes a camera to capture an image of the user’s face, subsequently comparing it with an existing facial profile stored securely within a database. The core technology stack employed for this endeavor comprises Python and OpenCV libraries, harnessing their capabilities to ensure the seamless functioning of the facial recognition algorithm. This research aim to modify the way to protect homes, providing an efficient, user-friendly & an alternative to traditional locking system. With the usage of advance technology like facial recognition for smart homes, residents can enjoy the ease of self-face as key to unlock their doors, enhancing security as well as ease of access. Research Article sets the stage for further exploration of the project’s methodology, results, and implications, ultimately contributing to the advancement of smart home security along with integration of cutting-edge technologies into everyday life
