Abstract
A novel procedure is proposed to include crack-induced delamination in a damage-predictive framework based on discrete damage modelling. Delamination initiation and propagation are treated separately based on experimental damage observations. Compared to alternative methods, the use of numeric analyses is strongly reduced, thus significantly increasing the efficiency of the predictive procedure. The proposed method is validated against fatigue data from the literature and from new experimental tests, showing a satisfactory agreement.
