Abstract
In this study, CuO nanospindle synthesized using the petal extract of Hibiscus cannabinus (H. cannabinus) was attempted to have better antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Cytotoxic activity against was found to be 70% against human acute myeloid leukemia HL60 cell line at 500 µg/ml. Morphological features were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Structural properties are analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, and the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum of CuO provides additional evidence for the formation of monoclinic crystal CuO. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX) analysis has exposed the pristine properties of CuO nanospindles.
