Abstract

Emerging technologies in healthcare cybersecurity focus on addressing evolving threats to patient data and critical systems. AI and machine learning algorithms are being deployed for real-time threat detection and anomaly identification. Blockchain technology is utilized for secure, tamper-proof health record management. Zero-trust architectures are implemented to enhance access control and minimize breach impacts. Key challenges include securing IoT medical devices, protecting against ransomware attacks, and ensuring HIPAA compliance in cloud environments. Risk evaluation involves continuous vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Implementation of standards like NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001 is crucial. Advanced encryption methods, including homomorphic encryption, are being explored for secure data sharing. Biometric authentication and behavioral analytics are enhancing identity management. The integration of these technologies aims to create a robust, adaptive cybersecurity ecosystem in healthcare. This research paper proposes a framework that talks about the new emerging technologies and various aspects of cybersecurity and what responses can be proposed to avoid the attacks that have taken place in the healthcare sector till now. This is a qualitative study involving content analysis gathered from the transcript of the interview of industry experts. Experts from IoMT (Internet-of-medical-things), EHR (Electronic health records), Blockchain, Cloud computing and cyber-attack data analyst. The framework was corroborated by a few of industry experts.
