Evaluating Essential and Accidental Code Complexity Triggers by Practitioners’ Perception

Abstract
Code complexity determines the difficulty of understanding code. Survey results show that many elements influence complexity, most of which are accidental and can be removed. Meanwhile, several elements captured by the traditional complexity metrics have a small influence on complexity.
