Abstract

Some shortages in conventional flood cooling technique under heavy cutting settings were noted while machining. Therefore, nanofluids (NF’s) that have elevated thermal conductivity than traditional cutting fluids are initiated to use in the mist system. In this investigation, aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanofluid was employed in the minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) system for face turning of Incoloy 800. Variable feed-speed combinations were selected for the experimental design to examine the act of NF’s under numerous cutting variables to determine the effect of NF with and without MQL machining. Ultimately, Al2O3 concentration offers an enhancement in tool life compared to other cooling strategies. Abrasion was noticed under all cutting strategies and it is less under NF with MQL. The desirability function was deployed to give the ideal machining setting by multi-criterion optimization.
