Opportunities and Challenges of AI in Vocational Education

Abstract

In recent years, the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has provided unprecedented opportunities for vocational education. This paper examines the value of AI in vocational education, using ChatGPT as a case study. It presents innovative application models, including assisted teaching and assisted learning, which can assist teachers in designing personalized instruction and providing on-demand support to students. These models serve as effective tools for the smart and personalized implementation of vocational education. However, caution is required to address risks such as data privacy and algorithmic bias. To ensure the responsible use of AI, particularly ChatGPT, collaboration among various stakeholders is essential. These efforts should focus on improving policies and regulations, establishing mechanisms for risk prevention and control, and promoting the harmonious coexistence and development of humans and machines. The proposed AI-driven model for intelligentization in vocational education offers valuable insights into empo wering vocational education with AI.
