Abstract
This article presents a new technique for the analytical synthesis of waveguide iris polarizers. The technique allows to develop polarizers based on a square waveguide with irises, which are simulated as inductive and capacitive reactances depending on the wave's polarization. The analytical model of the waveguide polarizer was created based on the transmission and scattering wave matrices taking into account higher-order modes in the vicinity of the irises. The developed model allows to carry out the analytical synthesis of waveguide polarizers with the account of the sizes of irises. In addition, the obtained model allows to perform the analysis of polarization characteristics vary depending on the alteration of structure sizes. Using the developed method, a new polarizer based on a square waveguide with 4 irises was synthesized for the operation in C-band 3.4-4.2 GHz.
