Abstract

Abstract The advancement of nanowire electrocatalysts with high‐performance and durability is crucial for sustainable development. Herein, uniform high‐entropy alloy (HEA) PtPdRuCuTe nanowires (NWs) are prepared with a simple one‐step hydrothermal method. The PtPdRuCuTe NWs demonstrate a mass activity of 4200.01 mA mg −1 and excellent stability for methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) under alkaline condition. Specifically, a current ratio of forward and backward scans (I f /I b ) of 5.04, higher than most reported catalysts, is achieved, indicating a superior CO anti‐poisoning capability. Density functional theoretical calculations reveal that the tuned electronic structures and multi‐active sites facilitate the fast electron transfer during MOR. Furthermore, the incorporation of Ru and Cu into PtPdRuCuTe NWs mitigates the adsorption of CO intermediates, thereby refreshing the multi‐active sites and enhancing MOR performances. This work significantly contributes to the development of HEA NWs and sets a foundation for design of multi‐active sites synergistic catalysts with high efficiency.
