Abstract

The CMS and ATLAS Collaborations have recently reported their results searching for a light Higgs boson with mass around 95 GeV, based on the full run 2 dataset. In the framework of the <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:mi>C</a:mi><a:mi>P</a:mi></a:math>-violating (CPV) <c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><c:mi>μ</c:mi></c:math>-from-<e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><e:mi>ν</e:mi></e:math> supersymmetric standard model (SSM), we discuss an <g:math xmlns:g="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><g:mo>∼</g:mo><g:mrow><g:mn>2.9</g:mn><g:mi>σ</g:mi></g:mrow></g:math> (local) excess at 95 GeV in the light Higgs boson search in the diphoton decay mode as reported by ATLAS and CMS, together with an <i:math xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><i:mo>∼</i:mo><i:mrow><i:mn>2</i:mn><i:mi>σ</i:mi></i:mrow></i:math> excess (local) in the <k:math xmlns:k="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><k:mi>b</k:mi><k:mover accent="true"><k:mi>b</k:mi><k:mo stretchy="false">¯</k:mo></k:mover></k:math> final state at LEP in the same mass range. By introducing CPV phases as well as by mixing <o:math xmlns:o="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><o:mi>C</o:mi><o:mi>P</o:mi></o:math>-even Higgs and <q:math xmlns:q="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><q:mi>C</q:mi><q:mi>P</q:mi></q:math>-odd Higgs, a lighter Higgs boson in the <s:math xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><s:mi>μ</s:mi></s:math>-from-<u:math xmlns:u="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><u:mi>ν</u:mi></u:math> SSM can be produced, which can account for the “diphoton excess.” Published by the American Physical Society 2024
